The Peninsula Authorities are aiming to put in place a Flexible Purchasing System, with multiple partners across the Peninsula of Devon, Somerset, Torbay and Plymouth, to deliver residential children's services. The aim of this service is to increase sufficiency of high quality placements to enable children and young people to remain as close to their home community as possible. This is based on the principle of accessing the right placement at the right time. Placements offer an asset-based model of service, where the child or young person is supported to achieve positive outcomes, with a focus on supporting placement stability and Permanence. The Flexible Purchasing System aims to achieve improved value for money for placing authorities through greater transparency of pricing and competition through call-off. The proposal is for this to be a continually open framework, the aim to speed up the process for new homes to become available for placements by the authorities. Pre-Tender Launch Event (updated date and time) The Peninsula Authorities will be hosting a virtual pre-tender launch market engagement meeting via Teams to discuss the re-tendering for Residential Children's Homes. This will include an outline of services, an updated timeline and discussion with the market. We are keen to develop the Peninsula Residential Children's Home contract in a way which supports the availability of a broad range of children's home placements, to meet the needs of Peninsula children and young people. This email address should only be used for interest in this event. Date: Wednesday, 10th August 2022 from 2 - 3pm Providers will be given the opportunity for Questions and Answers at the event. We will also offer 10 minute slots to Providers who wish to speak directly to the commissioners following the event. Providers need to be aware that these questions and answers will be anonymously recorded and published following the event, therefore consideration of this will need to be taken if requesting a slot.
