The Authority is seeking quotes from organisations to work with the Liverpool Early Help Service in providing support to young people who have emerging needs as a result of traumas they have experienced. We are looking to provide therapy to help young people process their traumatic experiences and reduce their mental health symptoms. The therapy will be relevant to the needs of the young person and will include but not be limited to DBT, CBT and Compassion focussed therapy. The therapy will be provided within the Council's Early Help Hubs and can be offered either virtually or in person which will be dependent upon the preference of the child and the therapist availability. Many children and young people who have witnessed or been a victim of abuse can often display their trauma through angry and aggressive behaviour which increases the likelihood of social care involvement and family breakdown. This service will be an important element of the City Council demand management strategy by reducing the numbers of young people stepping up to social work services.
