Contract to perform a 'Marmot Review'. Review to assess existing data on health inequalities, Assessment of the 'System for Health Equity', development of recommendations, and advocacy and resource commitments. The Marmot programme takes a proactive approach to health inequalities using the Marmot principles, which will result in a long-term plan for sustained change in Oxfordshire. This approach is being employed by a growing number of areas in England and Wales that are declaring themselves 'Marmot Places' to lend traction to their aims. Oxfordshire County Council Public Health are commissioning the UCL Institute of Health Equity (IHE) over a period of two years to conduct a review to highlight inequalities and their underlying causes, engage with health and individual partner organisations, identify plans and actions already in place to tackle inequalities, identifying gaps and recommending ways to achieve positive change. The contract commenced on 1/10/2024 and expires on 30/9/2026. The Council has a further option to extend the contract period by up to 12 months (to 30/09/2027).
