Capillary electrophoresis system capable of meeting the following requirements: • Laboratory scale, dimensions allow for placement on standard laboratory bench • Ability to perform automated separation of charged biomolecules on size via electrophoresis (i.e. CE-SDS) • Ability to perform automated separation of proteins based on their pI values (i.e. cIEF) a. Produce results in less than 2 hours b. Run a minimum of 10 samples per separation. c. Separation down to 5-10kDa. d. Produce quantitative & purity profiles e. UV & fluorescence detector (optional) f. Run native and reduced electrophoresis • A single device must be able to perform both pI/size separations a. Be able to switch between the two technologies • Export data • Provide preventative maintenance / servicing
