Devise and deliver a Leadership Development Programme for Senior Academic staff a) Purpose and Aims The main aims of any development activity to be undertaken are to: i. Support the delivery of the University Strategy, in a way which will engage and motivate all colleagues. ii. Ensure that our academic leaders have the confidence, skills and knowledge to lead their Schools through the growth and change of the next few years and beyond; iii. Support our academic leaders with an individualised offer, which will meet their own particular needs and will be geared around their own previous experience; iv. Ensure that the leadership of our academic Schools reflects our culture and values. b) Important Elements The following are identified as being important, either as content, or in terms of structure of any programme: i. Some analysis/diagnostic of skills and confidence in certain leadership areas ii. Having access to a coach or mentor iii. Having an individualised Development Plan and being supported to ensure it is completed iv. Having access to other, specific development activity as needed v.
