National Museums Liverpool (NML) is seeking to appoint one consultant to prepare a Heat Decarbonisation Plan for our current portfolio of 18 venues and buildings. The Heat Decarbonisation Plan is to reduce Scope 1 (Direct) and Scope 2 (Indirect - purchased electricity, steam heating and cooling) carbon emissions by replacing fossil fuel reliant systems with low carbon alternatives (for example heat pumps, electric heating, or other low-carbon fuel sources) across our estate. The appointed consultant will be required to structure the plan for an upcoming Heat Decarbonization Salix fund application currently programmed for Autumn 2022 and ensures it conforms to Phase 2 Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund, "Guidance on the preparation of heat decarbonization plans." It is required that the plan sets benchmarks, details the measures to be implemented to reduce carbon emissions and contributes to the drafting of a Planned Preventive Maintenance schedule (2022-2028). The decarbonization plan will be a live document and will be updated to track progress. This tender is until 30 June 2023 with the option to extend for four 12 monthly periods, subject to satisfactory performance and funding.
