Hywel Dda University Local Health Board has approved funding for the provision of Sanctuary Services. The aims of the Sanctuary Service are: To provide a non-clinical therapeutic support service to people in Mental Health distress in a calming and safe environment. This will enable individuals to de-escalate and deal with the factors/issues affecting their crisis and identify coping strategies to increase their resilience by: Providing a service which supports the needs of those at the risk of social/emotional crisis Providing a service at a time outside of traditional service operating times Act as a conduit to identify, broker, and signpost individuals to other help and support agencies as needed
