The counselling service will deliver and have particular expertise within the following areas:\r \r a) Providing confidential counselling services for employees who may be looking for assistance with personal or work related problems. \r b) Providing group work sessions and workshops as directed by the Principal HR Manager (Employee Relations and Occupational Health) \r c) Working with other support services to provide an integrated service depending on the needs of service users.\r d) Person centred integrated services / CBT / Gestalt and other counselling therapies.\r \r (2) Employees may be referred via a number of routes, either following agreement with the Occupational Health Nurse, Occupational Health Physician, the Human Resources Casework Teams, via Line Managers. \r \r (3) Short-term intermittent absences is a concern for the Council, and whilst it is not envisaged that this will be a regular part of the Counselling Service to be provided, the provider is advised that counselling for employees to help them reduce absence from work may be requested from time to time.\r \r (4) Written reports, in an approved format, must be provided to the Occupational Health Nurse at the initial consultation stage and upon conclusion of treatment. The reports should also be made available to the referring members of the Occupational Health Service, via the Medical Support Assistants to maintain confidentiality.
