22110 Mobile Coverage Baselining for Connecting Cambridgeshire

Description

The Authority invites response for the provision of a survey of mobile voice and data services across the county, with findings reported on completion. 1.11 This will help us to build the solid infrastructure, skills and competitive base essential for our digital future and will support the delivery of affordable public services. 1.12 The programme includes projects to: • Meet and aim to exceed the Governments target of 85% gigabit-capable coverage for the UK by 2025 • Improve mobile telecoms coverage, 2G, 4G and 5G coverage • Increase public access Wi-fi across the county, especially rural locations • Support the market in the deployment of 5G including the deployment of small cells • Explore the role of neutral hosts in delivering connectivity focussing on Peterborough and Ely • Improve gigabit-capable broadband coverage for social housing, matching the 85% target for market housing by 2025.Provide faster connectivity and support for businesses to go digital • Make it easier for people to get online and access public services in new ways • Explore how technology innovation and open data can help reduce the cost of public services and support sustainable future growth.
