A suitable Consultant is sought to undertake a Retail, Leisure and Tourism Study of Mid Devon District, hereafter referred to as the 'Study'. The Study will provide Mid Devon District Council with robust evidence and advice on the retail, leisure and tourism market across the district, taking account of past trends, current circumstances and forecasts for change. The Study should consider the need and demand for a range of retail, leisure and tourism uses in both urban and rural areas, including land adjacent to Junction 27 (M5), the proposed Culm Garden Village adjacent to Junction 28 (M5) and the capacity of the districts three town centres at Tiverton, Cullompton and Crediton). If any additional floorspace is required the Study should advise the Council on how much is needed, what type, and where in the district to contribute towards achieving sustainable development and in the context of a climate emergency and commitment to move to a net zero carbon future.
