1.1.1 The University of West London (UWL) has placed a Contract Notice in Contracts Finder and invites you to participate in a tender for providing Moving and Handling Training. 1.1.2 UWL provides yearly mandatory moving and handling training for its students on health care courses. The students are provided with clinical experience in our partner Trusts and private and voluntary sector health care environments. The University provides assurances to the placement areas that training is provided prior to the first clinical experience and updates are delivered yearly. 1.1.3 By the end of the training course participants should be able to: (i) Identify and understand the relevant legislation relating to Manual Handling and the responsibilities it places on employers and employees. (ii) Understand the relevance of cumulative injury in maintaining a healthy back. (iii) Understand the key principles of safe moving and handling. (iv) Adapt this technique to the types of handling carried out at work. (v) Participate in safe moving and handling techniques.
