This opportunity is advertised by Defra group Commercial on behalf of the Marine Management Organisation (MMO). This work is driven by the government's aim for clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas. Their purpose is to protect and enhance our precious marine environment and support the UK's economic growth by enabling sustainable marine activities and development. Requirement The MMO is seeking to appoint a specialist advisor, by calling off from the Nuclear Framework which has been recently established (project_29237 - Nuclear Projects - Specialist Technical Advice to MMO). The services required from the Specialist Advisor are likely to be advice within, but not limited to, the following areas: - Benthic Ecology - Fish Biology - Water and Sediment Quality - Radiological advice - Underwater Noise - Coastal Processes - Sediment Sampling and Analysis - Matters related to Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) The MMO will require the rapid review of numerous large and complex documents in order to best advise the case team as part of the MMO's function as a marine regulator. Close contact with the case team, as well as attendance at meetings with applicants and other advisory bodies is also likely to be required, sometimes at very short notice. The contract will start on 5 December 2022 and end on 4 December 2024.
