Science Support Software - Simulations

Description

The University is calling for Expressions of Interest for the supply of a broad and extensive range of interactive, 3D, virtual lab simulations in key curricula topics in the areas of, including but not limited, to Biology, Medicines, Chemistry, and other science areas (e.g., Laboratory Safety) and maintain a series of simulations on the platform to be used to aid teaching. Software should provide a simulation-based virtual learning experience for undergraduate students in key curricula topics for all year groups. Instructors should be able to select and easily integrate simulations, as required, to modules on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) in UCLan's case Blackboard. Students should be able to easily access and navigate the simulations within a module on Blackboard. The software should provide within-simulation student assessment including Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ's) and laboratory reports. Within-simulation MCQs should be contextually relevant, challenging and answered correctly before students move to the next step. The platform should be designed/developed in accordance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 AA) or equivalent The platform should be free from Operating System restrictions, browser plugins or application installs.
