The Repurposing and Testing programmes require ad-hoc haulier/courier services to collect, transport, and deliver excess stock and decommissioned items from various locations throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The requirement is for a cold transport provider to facilitate the ongoing movement of inventory between laboratories. The awarded supplier is a specialist organisation who can transport reagents at -20 and -80 degrees Celsius in their own temperature-controlled vehicles. This negates the need for staff at laboratories to receive boxes and dry ice and then have to pack prior to collection and is much easier for the receiving laboratory to take from the vehicle and put straight into their own freezers.
