The Broads Authority is the Local Planning Authority within the Broads executive area. The Broads area has a status equivalent to a National Park and the Authority considers the protection and promotion of the landscape as vital to the existing and future character of the area. The Authority is therefore seeking the advice of the consultant on a wide range of planning issues in order to protect and enhance the special character of the area relating to the landscape. This will include advising on planning applications, planting schemes and landscape enhancement policies, liaising on planning policy development and assisting with planning enforcement where there has been an adverse impact on the protected landscape. The consultant will be a representative of the Broads Authority and will carry out these duties, in an appropriate manner on behalf of the Authority.
