Bags for Tree Packaging

Forestry England have a future requirement for bags for tree packaging at our nursery at Delamere to store graded trees prior and during dispatch to forest districts, and on site prior to planting. Forestry England are looking for sustainable products and solutions in the market to contribute towards our sustainability targets and reducing / eliminating the use of single use plastics. To date, tree bags of the following specification have been used: - Dimensions in mm (face width/ width inclusive of gusset /length respectively): - 520 x 650 x1000 100micron* - 610 x 700 x 1350 100micron* - 660 x 840 x 1350 100micron* - 660 x 1020 x 1170 100micron* - 800 x 1250 x 1170 75micron* *Please note this is a typical thickness we currently use in a typical low density polyethylene. The bags are currently coextruded with white plastic on the outside and black on the inside. An example of the current bags is provided at Appendix 1 to this notice. Additional information: Forestry England are currently scoping our requirements to ensure that the specification and future tender documentation accurately reflects the offerings of the market. We invite interested companies from the market to register their interest in this future requirement and provide feedback on potential clarifications on the feasibility of our emerging plans. Additionally we request that interested market suppliers submit suggestions of sustainable alternatives to single use plastic tree bags when register their interest.
