Description

The contractor is required to review approximately 20 scientific research manuscripts which will be published separately in a special issue of an academic journal, and to synthesise the data, results and conclusions into a high-profile report suitable for a broad international audience. The work requires liaising with and interviewing the lead authors of the journal publications to extract key information and messages, drafting the full SOTWPF report, distilling key data into maps and infographics and working with Kew's Senior Science Editor and Creative Services team throughout the writing and design process. The contractor will also work closely with the SOTWPF Senior Project Manager and Senior Science Editor to troubleshoot issues and ensure that work is kept to deadlines and a very high-quality standard.It is essential that the contractor has an in-depth understanding of the relevant scientific literature and research techniques and be able to critically appraise the standard of research to ensure the rigour and evidence base of the report's contents. They must be familiar with the content and editorial style of previous SOTWPF reports and have a good working knowledge of Kew's internal workflow for design and production of the report
