A Framework Call-Off Contract for the Provision of Prototype Fast Reactor (PFR) Irradiated Fuels (IF) Cluster Handling Mods Scheme and Detailed Design has been awarded by Dounreay a Division of Magnox. The NEC3 Professional Services Contract (PSC) will apply with Main Option A with Activity Schedule being the selected pricing mechanism covering all the activities within the scope of the Service and will be utilised as the basis of the Call- Off Contract for (PFR) (IF) Cluster Handling Mods Scheme and Detailed Design. The Scope of Work to be carried out is to conduct a Scheme and Detail Design of the lifting equipment required to manoeuvre the Clusters from the vertical to the horizontal plane and vice/versa, and the equipment required to remove the Gagging Tube from those Clusters which require it. This Scheme and Detail Design will build upon the work already carried out in the Fuel Handling Approved Concept Design.
