The Sheffield District Energy Network, managed by Veolia, currently supplies an annual average of around 12MW of its 60MW capacity from the Energy Recovery Facility and previous studies have shown great potential for further expansion. Building on discussions Veolia are having with potential large heat loads along with data and insight gathered from the Heat Network Zoning Pilot Programme (HNZPP), this techno-economic feasibility study will assess the viability of extending the network for commercial and domestic connections, helping to establish the viability of heat network zones in those areas.
