Falmouth Marine School have successfully bid for strategic development funds to undertaken a 'De-carbonising a marine vessel' project. The project will result in the development of a dedicated marine electrical classroom and a remote machinery space/ bridge simulation room. The bridge simulation room is to be fitted with virtual reality equipment that would support learners progressing in to employment within the small vessel sector and off-shore wind farm support industry with a view to developing sustainability within this sector. Requirements: Falmouth Marine School require a marine industry related company that is conversant with the supply and installation of virtual reality and simulation equipment, both hardware and software, that is relevant to: Health and safety and hazard identification Preparation and maintenance of vessel structure Maintenance of a marine vessel mechanical and electrical equipment Safe operation of a vessel undertaking passage This equipment should be suitable to support the training and development of: Learners new to the industry and existing staff in developing the skills required to undertake those engineering and operational tasks that would be a part of the vessels daily/ weekly/ monthly routines and annual maintenance period and similar for personnel undertaking maintenance routine within the off-shore wind sector. There will also be a requirement as part of this tender to include a cost for Falmouth Marine School staff to undertake training in the setting up, maintenance and operation of VR simulation software and equipment
