The University of Warwick has a requirement to purchase a new cylindrical cell jelly roll winder for its Battery Scale-Up (BSU) pilot line located within the Energy Innovation Centre (EIC) at WMG. The winder will be used to manufacture rolls comprising anode and cathode electrodes, separators, and tabs, covering the cell dimensional range from 18650 through to 46900 in a single machine. The winder should have the capability to wind pre-cut anode and cathode electrode lengths (with and without pre-welded tabs), as well as anode and cathode electrodes on separate feed rolls (without pre-welded tabs - tabs to be welded automatically using an inline ultrasonic welding system) under tension and with active edge position control to ensure the required roll dimensional accuracy is achieved. In order to express interest in this opportunity please go to the University of Warwick In-Tend supplier portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofwarwick). The University of Warwick is not a contracting authority for the purposes of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended) and its procurement activities are not subject to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 or the obligations under the European Public Procurement Directives, including the European Remedies Directive.
