NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (NICB) wish to establish a list of qualified providers who can provide high quality, person centred and flexible care in two separate Lots for Domiciliary Care and Support for Adults and Children and Young People with continuing healthcare needs.<br/>Lot 1 - Domiciliary Care and Support for Adults with continuing healthcare needs will cover domiciliary care services to adults aged 18 and over who have been assessed as eligible to receive continuing healthcare. The term 'Domiciliary Care' is being used to describe care and support services delivered to an individual in their own home including 24-hr support.<br/>Lot 2 - Domiciliary Care and Support for Children and Young People with continuing care needs covers people aged 0-18. Care and support needs will be identified and commissioned as a Care Package. The Provider will be expected to meet each child or young person's care needs.
Lot 1 – Domiciliary Care and Support for Adults with continuing healthcare needs will cover domiciliary care services to adults aged 18 and over who have been assessed as eligible to receive continuing healthcare. The term ‘Domiciliary Care’ is being used to describe care and support services delivered to an individual in their own home. It includes 24-hr support services in peoples own homes. It also includes care including delegated healthcare tasks that require oversight of a qualified nurse and end of life care.<br/>Domiciliary care will involve the provision of some or all of the following:<br/>• Assistance with personal, nursing or social care, which may be defined as undertaking any activity which requires a degree of personal and physical contact with the patient to assist them to undertake such functions such as dressing, washing, bathing or shaving, toileting, getting in or out of bed, eating, drinking, and communicating. This is not an exhaustive list.<br/>• Domestic tasks including meal preparation, shopping and laundry, help with managing finances<br/>• assistance with medication<br/>• Carer support, including waking night care <br/>• Specified clinical interventions<br/>• Specified interventions that may need to be overseen by a qualified nurse <br/>• End of life care

Lot 2 – Domiciliary Care and Support for Children and Young People with continuing care needs covers people aged 0-18. Care and support needs will be identified and commissioned as a Care Package, and the Provider will be expected to meet each child or young person’s care needs.<br/>Packages of care provided for children and young people in the home will involve some or all of the following:<br/>• Supporting individuals who may display behaviours that challenge related to their learning disability, mental health or emotional wellbeing.<br/>• Play activities appropriate to the child’s developmental milestones. <br/>• Under specified and documented circumstances, assistance with medication and other complex interventions. <br/>• Waking care support at night <br/>• Specified clinical interventions.<br/>• Specified behaviour management strategies.<br/>• Specified clinical interventions that may need to be provided by a Registered nurse.
