Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) have been working on reducing flood risk from a range of sources in Lydney. One of the sources is flood risk from the river Lyd and the preferred option to reducing the risk is attenuating water in the upper catchment. As Forestry England (FE) own a significant amount of land we are working in partnership to deliver a range of natural flood management measures which can lower flood risk by slowing the flow of water, reconnecting the watercourse with the floodplain, and reducing erosion risk. This opportunity relates to the works to deliver these natural flood management measures on the ground.
