The scheme comprises remedial works for a section of highway, on the C2016 between Camerton and Great Broughton. The site is located approximately 1km east of Camerton, Cumbria, at National Grid Reference - NY 04431 30768. The site comprises an area of failed highway embankment carrying the C2016 adjacent to the River Derwent. The slope failure comprises a translational slip around 40m long, 1.5m wide (max) and 2m high, where material supporting the C2016 has moved downslope into the channel of the River Derwent and subsequently washed downstream.\r The anticipated remediation works comprise the design and build construction of a sheet pile retaining wall with concrete capping beam, the embankment reconstructed with engineered fill with carriageway reinstated to the correct standards and the installation of rock armour revetment to provide additional erosion resistance.
