We are looking to hire a Road Rail Battery Shunter with the following minimum requirements of: o To carry out shunting moves at its 3 sites (non-public areas - inside and outside the NRM on track and internal roadways) o Standard gauge (1,435mm) o Trailing weight 300 T haulage and stopping capability (unbraked stock). o Smallest curve radius 80m o British Standard loading gauge W6a o Charging power to be no more than 16 amp (240v or 415v AC) o Remote control & ride on facility o Horn & audible movement warning o Visual warning lights, front, and rear o Buffers - to standard international height (1041mm centre from rail top) o Brake system - air brake facility o Coupling - draw hook for screw coupling with option for buck eye and other adaptors o Available for 2 years from May To bring security to the project and our timescale we would also want to receive as part of the tendered response and costings, details of a maintenance and servicing agreement. Details should include frequency of servicing, any annual inspections required, expected response times for breakdowns, what is covered and not covered in terms of maintenance, as well as whether a replacement piece of equipment will be supplied should a major fault be found. Final equipment specific specifications will be agreed with the successful supplier to ensure the that the needs of the Museums are fully being met with regards to the equipment supplied.
