The Lea Castle is a former hospital site, split into core site and wider site. Leakage from former hospital laundry has resulted in PCE contamination of the groundwater within the underlying Principal Aquifer. Homes England are responsible for discharging the planning condition relating to contamination and are seeking a groundwater remediation contractor to remediate the groundwater to targets agreed with the Environment Agency. Additional information: The opportunity can be accessed via the Homes England eTendering system.
