Access improvement services as part of a capital investment project at Manor Road Community Woodland, Keynsham. Manor Road Community Woodland is a Local Nature Reserve which lies on the eastern edge of Keynsham, and forms part of the green belt between Keynsham and Saltford. Residential developer funding to mitigate the impact of nearby development on the woodland through the construction of new paths and access points has been provided to the Council through S106 agreements. Public consultation was undertaken from May to July 2023 to aid spending decisions. Key issues experienced by the community included muddy surfaces during wet weather, inaccessible and uninviting entrances, poor signage and inadequate seating. As a result, improved surfacing along main entrances and pathways, gateway repair and removal, new seating and updated signage were identified as some of the highest priority improvements. B&NES is now seeking to appoint a contractor to undertake these works. The works are grouped into areas A to L as shown in Appendix 4 (Access Improvements Specification).
