High Borrow Bridge and Backbarrow Bridge are both structures which have various masonry defects. Both the structures are suitable for works to be undertaken out of the river working window due to the nature of the defects and the access requirements. They have been packaged together for this reason. Backbarrow requires predominately re-pointing and void filling to the masonry arch barrel. Due to the nature of the river flow below this would need to be accessed from above with an underbridge unit or similar and the highway will be closed to undertake this and the TTRO for this has been applied for. High Borrow bridge is a single lane highway accessing a couple of properties which is a dead end. This also has various masonry works with the main works being to rebuilding the bridge spandrel walls and parapet walls.
