his advert is intended to notify potential suppliers of the tender for Gloucestershire County Council's existing RTPI system, and to inform those interested that the tender has gone live on 15th March 2021.\r \r GCC have delivered a functional RTPI system since 2004. Bus services are invaluable to local economies and the health and wellbeing of the passengers that they serve. In Gloucestershire there are approximately 20 million trips made on buses per year. RTPI supports all services (council-supported and commercial) by ensuring passengers have accurate and up to date information. GCC's first system was delivered by Vix Technologies in 2004, which in 2015 was upgraded and expanded by Trapeze Group UK.\r \r Gloucestershire's 'Local Transport Plan' set out strategy for 2015-2041 and was reviewed to reflect national policy updates and local priorities in the face of change. The LTP commits to reducing CO2 emissions, and supporting a healthy bus network is a key part of that commitment. Geographically, Gloucestershire is a large county and mostly rural. Significant size communities live in rural and urban settings. Gloucestershire's draft Local Industrial Strategy sees the distinct rural quality of the county as a clear asset but also highlights the limited availability of rural transport services. Rural mobility and thus making RTPI functional and an asset across the county is a key topic for ITU's current and future work.\r \r GCC's Integrated Transport Unit are prioritising the following\r \r ITU's working relationship with the contractor(s)\r \r A co-working, collaborative, diligent relationship is expected between contractor(s) and GCC\r \r Such a relationship can be especially important when ordering new hardware (new hardware, to replace existing displays or to install in new locations, will be needed throughout the duration of the contract, at unknown times. It is expected between 20 and 60 displays may be replaced in the first 6 months of the contract).\r \r The CMS system provided by the software\r \r Prompt-running and high-quality functionality\r \r Many in-built reports are expected as standard\r \r Value for investment\r \r High quality reporting and analysis of (but not limited to) bus service performance, tracking data and roadside display health/monitoring\r \r A summary of the outline programme for the tender/contract is shown below:\r \r Tender released: 15th March 2021\r \r Anticipated Award: 19th May 2021\r \r Mobilisation period: May 2021 to July 2021\r \r Contract start date: 23rd July 2021\r \r Overall Duration: 5 years with the option of up to 2 years extension\r \r The proposed procurement route will be a single stage open process using the NEC3 Term Service Contract. Full details will be available in the tender pack.
