WM5G Health will launch a new Framework to accelerate the adoption of Virtual Care and Community Diagnostic services across health and care settings.
WM5G works with Local Authorities and ICBs and has delivered innovative programmes in areas of emerging technology.
The Open Framework will allow Suppliers to bid for specific lots covering technology solutions, clinical service delivery, and management support. Suppliers can align their offers to lots such as Virtual Care Technology, Clinical Services for Virtual Care, Diagnostic Technology Enablement, Community Diagnostic Clinical Services, and Service Management. This flexible, compliant framework will enable WM5G to quickly procure and deliver high-quality, innovative solutions, product and services that enhance patient access, care quality, and service resilience.

Looking beyond March 2022, WM5G will be evolving to support SMEs to adopt the productivity and other benefits of 5G, internet of things and data & AI use cases which it has pioneered. The adoption of these benefits has significant potential to help level-up the Midlands by addressing the productivity gap and creating new skilled jobs. With SMEs accounting for the majority of GVA in many sectors but struggling with a wide variety of technology adoption challenges - especially coming out of the pandemic - this has been recognised as a regional and national priority.
To support WM5G to deliver its SME Adoption programme we are running a procurement consisting of two lots:
• Lot 1: Provision of primary premises within the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP area and associated services
• Lot 2: Access to 5G core, RAN and associated services, such access to ideally be provided to the primary premises.
Provision of on-the-day discharge support for patients leaving hospital, coordinated through a digital booking and task allocation platform. The service must enable rapid deployment of personnel (staff and/or volunteers) to deliver practical discharge support in community and home settings.
• Expedite safe and timely patient discharge.
• Provide flexible, same-day support using a digital management platform.
• Ensure consistent nationwide coverage with local delivery.
• Guarantee rapid completion of assigned tasks.
Digital Booking & Task Management Platform
• Platform available to WM5G discharge co-ordinators for real-time booking.
• Ability to upload, assign, and track multiple tasks per patient.
• Visibility of task status, personnel availability, and completion updates.
• Secure data handling in line with NHS IG requirements.
Workforce Model
• Access to a range of personnel, including staff and/or volunteers.
• Capability to allocate tasks to appropriate individuals based on geography and skill set alignment.
• Ability to scale resources according to demand.
• Mandatory: Tasks must be allocated within 2 hours from time of upload and completed within 4 hours.
• Supplier must demonstrate systems and capacity to meet this SLA.
Geographic Coverage
• Mandatory: Nationwide coverage.
• Delivery must take place at a local level, with appropriate deployment networks

WM5G is now looking to scale-up and accelerate the adoption of these technology services across the West Midlands in order to deliver radically more effective and efficient services and boost economic recovery and growth and increase digital inclusion.
WM5G is establishing a collaborative Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for a range of services relating to the transformation of systems and services and the acceleration and scaling of 5G* adoption in key sectors - with an initial focus on advanced manufacturing and social care/smart communities.

The Agreement will be to support the scoping, design and delivery of digital solutions into the health and care systems.
This is a short term agreement required to work alongside ICB organisations to their tight financial planning timelines of data required in August / September as well as ongoing iterations throughout the remainder of the FY to be prepared for the new budget / FY.
This will require experience of working alongside clinical teams, finance teams and having supported business cases getting approved within NHS budgets.
WM5G intends to award a short term contract to deliver the immediate need and allow for a longer term requirement to be scoped and developed to align to the next phase of the services.
