A contractor is sought to undertake fit out works to a heritage building in Hexham, Northumberland. Tyne and Wear Building Preservation Trust is a small charity that has recently bought a vacant building that needs to be restored before re-use, The works will be part funded by the Hexham High Streets Heritage Action Zone that includes funding from Historic England and Northumberland County Council. A Schedule of Works has been prepared and will be released to upto 6 parties who meet the quality criteria. A costed condition survey in the form of a quinquennial survey is required for St Mary's Heritage Centre in Gateshead. The last completed survey was undertaken in January 2016 by Gateshead Council Asset Management Team.
Alongside a conservation acceridted architect the survey team will need to include a strcutural engineer to examine the boundary walls which are partly retaining.

A contractor is sought to undertake repair works to the tower and chancel roof on the Grade I Listed St Mary's Heritage Centre, Gateshead. Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust is a small charity that has recently taken on a 99 Lease for the premises and received funding from the Community Renewal Fund to undertake these works.
The works include the following:
• Installation of a ladder access from the tower first level up to the roof with fall arrest system to the ladder and access gantry, and a fall arrest system Tower roof.
• The external decoration of the louvres to the Tower.
• The replacement of broken and missing slates to the Chancel roof, and the formation of mortar fillets to the watertables of the eastern gable wall of the Chancel.
• Pointing up of a number of cracks to the arch stones to the eastern glazed entrance to the Nave.

• The formation of the new access ramp and steps to the South Porch doorway.
• The installation of a new door with internal access ramp to the South Porch.
• The repair of the wall plates to the northern wall to the Nave.
• The inspection and repointing of upper stone work to the South Transept.
• The inspection of roofing timbers and securing of roof timbers to the South Transept.
• The formation of a ceiling over the glazed office to the South Transept.
• The change of one of the glass panels to the glazed office to provide a viewing panel.
• The adaptation of a cleaning store to create a shower room.

A contractor is sought to supply and install new electrical infra-red heaters and lights, in the Grade I Listed St Mary's Heritage Center, Gateshead. Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust is a small charity that has recently taken on a 99 Lease for the premises and received funding from the Community Renewal Fund to undertake these works.
The project is to undertake the works to replace the current suspend ceiling lights in the central aisle of the church building and former chancel with electric infra-red heaters and LED lighting. All works must be undertaken with full awareness and sensitivity to the Listed status of the building. Attached documents show the proposed layouts and the work is to undertake Phase 1.
The work is programmed to take place February 2025, with all works fully complete by the end of the month. Interested contractors should respond to Bev Robinson bev@twbpt.org.uk with two case studies of similar projects describing how they are relevant to the works required and including references from clients by the 18th December 2024. They should confirm that they have the ability to meet the timescale.
It is envisaged that 6 contractors will be selected to receive the full schedule of works on 20th December 2024 with a return date of 1pm on the 16th January 2025. The objective is to start work on the 18th February 2025.
