Background to the requirement
The Scheme will provide additional elective care beds on the YDH site. These will allow for the use for long waiting specialties within Somerset and wider area, specifically orthopaedic activity. Within the county, bed capacity is the key constraint followed by elective theatre capacity; this will provide dedicated additional inpatient bed capacity for elective recovery focusing on long waits.
Customer Objective
Simply Serve Limited (Authority) are a wholly owned subsidiary of Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Authority, via the SBS Framework, wish to engage a supplier for the design, manufacture, supply and installation of a 20-bed ward Modular Building to be constructed on level three (roof) of the existing Acute Hospital building. Level three being the first level above ground level (main entrance).

Refurbishment of a series of existing shower rooms to form new wet rooms in 5 locations within the main hospital building at Yeovil District Hospital.\r

The works will include:\r
- the removal of existing sanitaryware, wall coverings, floor coverings, fixture and fittings, shower curtains, ceilings, etc.\r
- the removal of internal doors, lining and architraves,\r
- part removal of the existing concrete screed to create new falls\r
- the formation of new screed levels and installation of level shower tray\r
- new suspended ceiling and grid with replacement light fittings and extract grilles\r
- new vinyl floor finish with coved skirting detail.\r
- New sanitaryware and shower curtain rail (shower curtain supplied by others)\r
- adjustments to drainage connections and new connection for IPS systems.\r
- other associated M&E installations e.g. Fire detection, sensors etc. (contractor design and covered by a provisional Sum)\r

It is anticipated that each shower room will take 4 weeks to complete, allowing for lead in times for delivery of materials.\r
The successful contractor will be appointed by simply Serve Ltd under a Direct Purchase Order. The work will be administered under the terms of a JCT Minor Works contract with contractor's design 2016. Work associated with the M&E installation and waste connections will be Contractor designed but will need to be in accordance with Simply Serve's Standard Specification of work
As part of their on-going maintenance programme. Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are undergoing a targeted refurbishment and improvement programme. This tender is for the refurbishment of the existing surface with a new permeable surface and general arrangement of the staff car park known as Blue Zone Car Park.
LED Architects have been appointed by Simply Serve Limited on behalf of Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to produce a set of documents to form part of a tender for the selection of a contractor to carry out the works.
The project involves the resurfacing of the existing staff car park which serves Yeovil District Hospital together with a new permeable surface and sub-base and associated white lining, signage etc. This includes:
- the removal of existing surfacing, excavation to reduced level, redundant posts, features, foliage, etc to receive new permeable tarmac surface, including all kerb edgings, relocated posts, etc.
- new permeable tarmac surface, associated open graded sub-base and geotextile membrane
- associated landscaping works
- new thermoplastic white lining
- coordination of new CCTV Installation by named domestic subcontractor
- it is assumed the existing compacted surface with be suitable
The Contractor will be given full possession of the site. The programming and sequencing of the work on site is the responsibility of the Contractor.
It is anticipated that the works will commence in Spring 2023 with a contract period of 10-Calendar Weeks.
The successful contractor will be appointed by Simply Serve Ltd under a Direct Order, however, the works will be administered in accordance with the terms of the JCT Minor Works Contract detailed in Section 1 of the Specification.

Upon satisfactory completion of Phase 1, there may be an opportunity to extend the contract and for the Contractor to carry out additional passive fire protection surveys across the wider Somerset Foundation Trust estate.

The specification outlines the requirements for the supply, installation, and commissioning of access control and automated door systems. The scope includes single and double access control doors, as well as single and double automated doors. All works must be completed in accordance with the specifications detailed herein and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Note: The total value within this notice is based on the full contract value, including the optional extension period.
This framework covers both reactive and planned maintenance services for drainage, flooring, and electrical systems across Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Somerset Council sites. Contractors will deliver emergency call-outs, routine repairs, and scheduled works in compliance with the specification.
The framework will be split into the following three lots:
- Lot 1 - Planned and Reactive Drainage Works
- Lot 2 - Planned and Reactive Flooring Works
- Lot 3 - Planned and Reactive Electrical Works
The maximum total value of this framework is £10,000,000 excluding VAT. This figure is not an estimate of anticipated spend; it has been intentionally set at a higher level to ensure sufficient capacity for all potential call-off contracts over the full maximum framework term of eight years.
