As one of the six districts that make up the Liverpool City Region, Sefton Council has committed a proportion of its UKSPF allocation to Place Based Business Support until 31 March 2025. Business Growth & Investment is one of the four key strategic objectives of the Sefton Economic Strategic Plan.

In Sefton DA is overwhelmingly our most prevalent source of concern. For context, in this financial year to date we have received 2600 contacts where DA is listed as the prime concern. The next biggest concern is listed as ‘Parenting support’, 860 contacts. DA outstrips the next biggest reason we are involved with children by over three times. In reality, this is a minimisation, once we begin to work with families DA often reveals itself as a significant concern that was not the original reason for referral. We know that children who experience parenting within the context of domestically abusive relationship can go on to model these behaviours in their own relationships later in life.
Current Domestic Abuse (DA) provision in Sefton has evolved historically and has the potential to be disjointed and based on risk.
The needs assessment that was commissioned to meet our statutory obligations under the DA Act, tells us we have unmet need around:
• Reporting of DA in more affluent areas of the borough was less than in areas of deprivation.
• Women with complex needs
• Older Victims / Survivors
• Male Victims
We are proposing to procure a fully integrated Community Domestic Abuse service that operates on a network approach, is open to anyone irrespective of their protected characteristic or risk level.
Adoption in Merseyside (AiM) is a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) covering Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral local authorities.
AiM wishes to attract the best support services available for those involved in adoption in the region. The anticipated volume of service required is to support a minimum of 180 individuals and a minimum of 260 letterbox exchanges. This is in the region of 1,230 exchanges of letters per annum.
Services will be available for the following groups:
• Adopted adults.
• Birth parents and relatives of adopted children, young people and adults.
All service delivery will be in line with any relevant Government legislation and guidance. The overall legislative Framework is the Adoption and Children Act 2002
The Providers must be a registered Adoption Support Agency or registered Voluntary Adoption Agency which has notified OFSTED of variation to its business and comply with The Adoption Support Service Regulations 2005. A 'registered adoption support agency' refers to an agency registered under Part 2 of the Care Standards Act 2000 b and be subject to regular inspection.
The services need to be available at any time during and post the adoption process.
