Introduction and Background to the Contract
2.1 Bangor University wishes to appoint waste management contractors for the collection and disposal/treatment of residual/general waste, recyclates, food waste, skip and container wastes at various University locations.
2.2 The contract will be for one lot only and is for Waste collection and management services for University premises within Bangor, Menai Bridge, Mona and Abergwyngregyn.and Waste collection and management services for the Wrexham site.
2.3 - Two pricing scenarios are requested from bidders. Option A is for straight forward waste collection, Option B is asks bidders to cost the pre sorting of general waste at residential locations. A decision will be made by the University Executive as to which pricing option is chosen for contract award purposes.
2.3 Bangor University is committed to the development of sustainable waste management practices and therefore seeks to minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill year on year, by means of waste prevention and reduction, maximising reuse and increasing our recycling in accordance with the Waste Hierarchy. We wish to partner with appropriate contractors who can assist us with meeting these objectives

Measured Term Contract for the Supply of Maintenance Services to the Bangor University Estate
To make potential bidders aware of a forthcoming tender to be issued on the 1st September 2025 (approximately) for maintenance services and minor works (up to £100k excl VAT) under three lots covering Electrical, Mechanical, and Building and Grounds Maintenance services.
Suppliers are encouraged to bid across one or multiple lots and the use of sub contractors is permitted.
The contracts for each lot will be subject to NSR (National Schedule of Rates) under the JCT Measured Term Contract 2024.
Please note a mandatory supplier visit is required of all bidders. The visits to Bangor site with presentations , visits to sites and Q&A session will be held W/C 15th July (this may change if tender timetable dictate) and a seperate visit will be held for each lot (anticipated 1/2 day per lot to take place over 2 consecutive days).

Albert Gubay Business School (Bangor University) Pre-Market Engagement
Bangor University has received a donation from the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation to create a state-of-the-art business school, which will be housed in the soon-to-be converted site of the former Friars Junior School on Ffriddoedd Road in Bangor, Gwynedd.
The refurbishment and development of this historic building and site will offer a really exciting opportunity to create a sector-leading business school, whilst conserving and renewing a significant, historic building in Bangor.
The project aims to focus on refurbishing the historic asset, whilst extending to include a purpose-built vibrant Business School, to enhance the visitor, student and staff experience, and in turn entice future students and staff to the University.

Bangor University is currently finalising a business case to request funding from the North Wales Growth Deal to deliver Egni, a new low/zero carbon two-storey development on the M-SParc site in Gaerwen, Anglesey.
Egni will provide an estimated 1,000m2 of new business incubation and research collaboration space (total building size of approximately 1,727m2) with complementary business development support. It will create additional offices, workshops and laboratories, training and circulation/reception space.

The contract will involve the processing (wash and finish) and transportation (collection and return) of linen items from various sites. The Linen will be hired from the supplier, however, there will be need for Bangor University’s own Shower Curtains to be laundered on a regular basis and other products on an ad-hoc basis.
