This cross-community arts project will engage minority participants in exploring Northern Ireland’s mental health care history, using the Downshire Hospital and Down County Museum’s collection as inspiration. Through inclusive workshops, participants will reflect creatively on personal and shared experiences, culminating in an exhibition at Down County Museum.

This a film-based community programme that explores the journeys of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of settling in a new country. Through curated film screenings, guest speakers, and facilitated discussions, participants will deepen their understanding of newcomer experiences and reflect on integration within their own local communities.

The purpose of this procurement is to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced consultancy team to assist the Council in progressing the development and implementation of the preferred operating model for the Newry Theatre and Conference Centre. Newry Mourne & Down District Council’s PEACEPLUS Action Plan includes the delivery of Collaborative Interaction Programmes under Strand 2 – Thriving and Peaceful Communities. A need has been identified through consultation for the delivery of a Market Ready Programme. This programme will aim to work alongside specific groups to promote the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices, while engaging local home industries and encouraging the development of new relationships and skills transfer between people working within these sectors.

Newry Mourne & Down District Council’s PEACEPLUS Action Plan includes the delivery of Capacity Building and Engagement Programmes under Strand 2 – Thriving and Peaceful Communities. Strand 2 focuses on eight identified priority projects encompassing a broad range of initiatives focused on capacity building, leadership development, cross community relationship building interaction and engagement, social and emotional support, events and festivals and community justice interventions. Competent consultancy companies are hereby invited to tender to design, develop and deliver a Capacity Building Programme. This programme will build the capacity of local organisations/ communities through cross community collaboration and support sustainable service provision within the district. This project will deliver 2 events management training programmes for community groups and volunteers, one will be held within the Newry DEA and one will be held within the Crotlieve DEA.
