National Grid are looking to set up a multi-year Marine Survey Framework to service offshore cable laying as part of the Great Grid Upgrade and may be utilised in the future for any Hydrogen Pipeline projects as applicable. The Framework will cover the full gamut of survey disciplines required for cable lay and subsequent maintenance. Including Geophysical, Geotechnical, Environmental, Intertidal/landing, Unexploded Ordinance, Maintenance with flexibility to award Turnkey requirements. The Framework is seen as being an important part of National Grid's maritime requirements to allow for a more rapid contracting of surveys potentially in parallel with other project elements that traditionally have been programmed sequentially. Through this RFP, we are seeking a strategic content and creative partner with multinational capability to support the development of refreshed web content, brand storytelling, video and motion assets, and supporting materials for both internal and external audiences. The programme will follow an accelerated timeline, beginning with onboarding in the upcoming months and culminating in delivery within the same calendar year. The selected agency should demonstrate strong digital capability, creative excellence, and a proven ability to collaborate with brand, content, and wider organisational stakeholders. The successful framework contractor will be required to carry out the full installation of 66kV, 132kV and/or lower voltage cable circuits and associated earth wires / continuity conductors and NGED Telecom ducts inclusive of all jointing, testing and commissioning as specified for the individual route/project being tendered for.  

Works under the Framework comprises of civil engineering & building work associated with the construction of new and refurbishment of existing electricity substation sites within NGED's electrical distribution network. Civils works will frequently be carried out in a "live" substation environment. Typically, but not exclusively, covering construction of new substations, construction of new buildings, modification or alteration to existing buildings, foundations, fencing, interceptors, drainage, roads, trenching, general excavation and cable ducts. The scope also extends to general building maintenance associated with roof repairs, redecoration, joinery, guttering, glazing, trench cover replacement, door or gate installation and replacement. It may also entail use of specialist techniques associated with tasks related to environmental protection of electrical substations from extreme weather conditions such as flooding, high winds, high humidity, or any such criteria likely to adversely affect NGED's electrical infrastructure.

This QUDM is for a wide range of services (and, where applicable, supporting goods and works) to provide and support Functional Services (FS), including but not limited to: 1. Record to Report (R2R) 2. Source to Pay (S2P) 3. Join to Leave (J2L) 4. Order to Cash (O2C) 5. Audit & SOX Compliance 6. ERP Security 7. Other emerging scope including, but not limited to, Data and Analytics, Learning Services, Procurement and IT Services. 8. Technology-driven transformation capability leveraging automation, AI analytics and lean process re-engineering The precise delivery model will be developed and confirmed by the relevant NG group entity for each procurement event, on an event-by-event basis, and may include outsourcing, global support and other modes of delivery depending on the requirement. National Grid intends to launch a tender utilising this QUDM in October 2025.
