Contract to provide an Account Based Ticketing Solution which was let under two Lots, Lot 1 - Account Based Ticketing Solution and Lot 2 - Handheld Devices. The purpose of the contract is to provide the following:
• A 'token agnostic' ABT solution which will support journey 'taps' from EMV and ITSO will be procured.
• Improving customer journeys by modernising ticketing, offering improved accessibility, flexibility, and best value fares;
• Enabling integration with other transport operators across multiple modes within the Liverpool City Region;
• Supporting changes adopted through the multi operator zonal review;
• Introducing a financially sustainable solution that makes best use of existing infrastructure and recent investments, including PVALs and the Smart Metro Portal;
• Help protect and grow revenue; and
• Adopt a sustainable retail solution that aligns with local and national ticketing strategies
MEL are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the asset group referred to as Station Information and Surveillance Systems (SISS). For the purpose of this tender, we have created 2 Lots which are split into the following categories.
Lot 1 - Fire and Security Alarm Maintenance - These assets include Fire Alarms and Security Alarms, Access Control, W.C alarms and access systems, bike shelter access systems and Passenger Validators. These systems and assets perform a vital function at all MEL stations and as such we view them as business critical.
Lot 2 - Station Information and Surveillance Systems - These assets include CCTV, Public Address (PA), Customer Information Systems (CIS), Clocks, Speech transfer and passenger Help Points. These systems and assets perform a vital function at all MEL stations and as such we view them as business critical.
Contract to provide a a fully comprehensive service for Rail Replacement Bus Services during both planned and unplanned disruptive events affecting the normal operation of MEL's timetabled rail services.
Merseyrail will be replacing 50 gates with priced options for the potential of a further 13 additional gates being installed to the Merseyrail estate. Platform validators required for ABT arealready installed at all non-gated stations. Based on the planned phases, compatibility with ITSO and EMV are must have requirements, with support for magnetic stripe paper tickets and barcode as options to be costed for separately.
The scope of this procurement covers physical gate hardware along with associated systems and services.
The ABT system will be token agnostic, providing the flexibility to accept ITSO(MetroCard), EMV (bank card and EMV devices such as mobile phones) and Barcode. Gate lines include a mixture of Automatic Ticket Gates (ATGs), Wide Aisle Gates (WAGs) and manually operated Auxillary Gates.
Contract to provide proven Suppliers for the Facilities Management Services.
The opportunity was split into two (2) Lots:
Lot 1 - Hard Facilities Management Services
Lot 2 - Soft Facilities Management Services
The Hard and Soft Facilities Management Services Tender was let to improve overall service requirements and obtain better value for money by increasing the scope of requirements ensuring continued delivery and support. The services comprise of all the cleaning and maintenance tasks undertaken as a responsibility of Merseyrail in line with the Station Access Agreements.
Contract to provide a dedicated cash in transit service. The objectives of the Services required, but not limited to, are listed below:
• to provide cash collection (notes and coins) facilities 6 (six) days a week to our stations including automatic Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs);
• to provide a cash in transit service;
• to remit to Merseyrail's bank account;
• to provide ad hoc additional collections as required for special events;
• to provide change deliveries to all staffed locations; and
• to provide consumables such as, Cash Bags, Barcodes / Stickers as and when required.
