Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is seeking training providers to deliver two Medical Emergency Life Support training courses for NHS dental professionals across Wales. The appointed providers will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, standardised training aligned with Resuscitation Council UK guidance and General Dental Council CPD requirements. Training will take place across dental practices and clinics within the five NHS Health Boards in Wales, with one supplier appointed per lot and no restriction on the number of lots a bidder can apply for.
The requirement includes an in‑practice Life Support course supported by a mandatory online module, and a second course delivered in postgraduate centres, each with defined delegate capacities and specific learning objectives. Providers must supply appropriately qualified trainers, adhere to HEIW documentation and quality‑assurance processes, and ensure full compliance with information governance, data protection, and social value obligations. The contract will run for an initial 12‑month period, with options to extend for up to 24 further months subject to performance and funding.
This Agreement is non‑committal and does not guarantee any maximum level of spend. Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) will engage with suppliers on a call-off basis, as and when a requirement arises. The total contract value for 3 years is £315,000 ex VAT.
