The Capex Programme Delivery Framework has been established to provide design, planning, and construction services that support Cadent's Capital Expenditure programmes throughout the RIIO-3 period and potentially beyond. This Framework will play a key role in delivering investments that enhance, expand, and maintain the networks Cadent operates. It also supports the diversion or modification of existing assets, often in response to third-party requests driven by construction, infrastructure, and property development projects.
The scope of work may include both primary and secondary construction, decommissioning, and the removal or disposal of redundant assets and associated infrastructure. Partners will also contribute to Cadent's asset management objectives through design optimisation and the integration of new technologies and equipment.
Cadent was seeking a partner to provide Infrastructure and Application Support and Maintenance services for a range of core business systems. The chosen partner is to operate using a suite of standard ITIL processes which are deployed today across Cadent.
Cadent is contracting with a sole supplier provider across Cadent geographical footprint to supply quality and value for money providing Company cars and supporting services.
The provider must have the capacity to support the full needs of Cadent's requirements and fleet size of Circa 1000.
To ensure the security of its above ground pressure reduction assets, Cadent requires the design of 6no. replacement fences to its 'ISS Lite' standard, in line with GD/SP/CE/13. The Works are to design a full ISS 'Lite' solution to Cadent's GD/SP/CE/13 specification, which is effectively designed to the ISS 'Full' standard, but to be constructed without the full design implemented, although have preliminary work carried out in order to upgrade the remaining spec at a later date. The design will then be approved and appraised by competent persons, through Cadent's Management.
The NG ARC operates a complex (but resilient) technical solution including network domain(s), Windows Active Directory, network file storage, automated backup servers, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) servers, and anti-virus. NG has standardised and, where possible, hardened its software and hardware to aid simple and effective system management and confidence in the operation and cybersecurity of the system. The backbone of the ARC is the technology used to allow operators to monitor and operate the remote site systems, such as IDS, CCTV, PA and AACS. Without technology, the ARC serves no operational process, and, for this reason, the technical solution must be carefully designed according to the Operational Requirements (OR). With multiple sites operating multiple separate systems, a Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) system or Security Management System (SMS) is required to pull the various systems into a single interface.
Background
Cadent exists to keep the energy flowing. We are the UK's largest gas distribution network, owning four of the nine regional distribution networks and connecting 11 million homes and businesses through 82,000 miles of pipeline. We're proud to be at the heart of heat and we work closely with our communities to keep them safe, warm and connected, providing extra care for those who might need it in a gas emergency. We maintain, repair and replace gas pipes to ensure the safe and reliable flow of gas now and long into the future. We manage the national gas emergency number on behalf of the gas industry, responding to gas escapes and repairing leaks.
The Environmental Services Framework covers Environmental, Ecological, and Archaeological Consultancy to meet Cadent's legislative obligations, internal standards, and industry best practice where it is not covered by a wider Project Management contract.
The key internal stakeholders within Cadent are its central Capital Delivery function, the regional construction functions within the Cadent networks, the Cadent property function and other functions involved in investment / operational / emergency / maintenance activities.
To cover the vast majority of our low and medium pressure network by surveying in the public highway, collecting data down to very low concentrations of gas in air, effectively identifying false positives and mapping the sources of emissions accurately onto a GIS based platform.
Cadent has a requirement for the provision of pre-printed materials. The Supplier shall provide the services on a national basis covering all Customers locations in the UK. Deliveries shall normally be to main office locations, direct mail and small consignments to nominated businesses or domestic locations as requested by the Customer
