The Essex Procurement Partnership (EPP), on behalf of Tendring District Council (TDC) is looking to procure a service for the provision of Waste Collection & Disposal to 3 Leisure Centres in the district. The contract is expected to start on 1 April 2026, with a duration of 3 years with an optional extension of 1 + 1 Year. This service is a critical component of TDC's paid-for waste collection; the existing contract expires on 31st March 2026. The service is statutory under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and relates to the safe handling, collection, and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous and washroom waste from centers. This procurement exercise will include 3 locations: - Clacton Leisure Centre, CO15 6DB - Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles, CO12 3TA - Walton-on-the-Naze Lifestyle, CO14 8PZ The waste disposal will encompass several elements: - Bulk General Waste (Inc. Food waste) - Washroom Waste (Sanitary Waste, Nappies, Sharps, Hazardous) - Dry Mixed Recycling Waste Each sites needs are different and suppliers are advised to ensure they understand the need of each sites waste disposal and facilitation requirements . The contract will include the provision of bins by the supplier, collection and disposal. There are currently days scheduled for collection, and suppliers are expected to liaise with the leisure centres upon award of the contract to ensure a smooth transition of services within the mobilisation period. The purpose of this procurement is to secure a reliable, suitably qualified, licensed and efficient partner who will be responsible for the administrative management, timely collection and disposal of waste from commercial centres within the district of Tendring. The supplier will be responsible for the provision, collection and disposal of waste in line with regulations.
