The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) (the Buyer) is an Executive agency of and operates under the control of the Department of Justice for Northern Ireland (DOJ) and is responsible for the management of His Majesty’s Prisons in Northern Ireland. It is governed by the Prison Act (Northern Ireland) 1953 and the Prison and Young Offenders Rules (Northern Ireland) 1995. The Buyer requires a Supplier(s) to supply and deliver fresh and prepared fruit and vegetables. The requirement has been split into two lots. Lot 1 – Maghaberry Prison and Hydebank Wood College and Women’s Prison and Lot 2 - Magilligan Prison. Tenderers may bid for one or both Lots providing they have the capacity to deliver the requirement as stated. The Supplier must provide all items listed within the Lot. The contract will be for a period of three (3) years followed by two optional extension periods of twelve (12) months each.
