The Coroners Act 1988 places several duties on Local Authorities for the provision of a Coroner's Service. The Coroner is an independent judicial officer whose role is to investigate the causes of sudden deaths, deaths of unknown cause, unnatural or violent deaths or deaths in custody. Bodies that fall under the jurisdiction of the Coroner are transported to a designated mortuary under specific conditions for further investigation and possible post-mortem.
The proposed objectives of this procurement are as follows.
i. To put in place via an open tender process a compliant contract to deliver a Coroner's Transport Removal service on behalf of HM Coroner for Surrey
Surrey County Council currently run a framework for the Transport Removals Service on Behalf of H.M. Coroner for Surrey. The framework consists of 3 lots;
Lot 1 - North Surrey
Lot 2 - South West Surrey
Lot 3 - South East Surrey.
Lot 2 was unawarded at the time and the council now wishes to run a procurement to award a contractor to this lot.

COsA Services Contract - Supply, Migration & Mobilisation of a Public Transport Data Management System
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) is seeking a single supplier or consortium of suppliers to provide a new public transport data management system to replace its current existing single system.
The Combined Services and Assets (CoSA) system and database was established in 1999 and is a purpose-built database with Geographical Information System (GIS) functionality. CoSA is a central single data hub which is vital in enabling WYCA to process public transport information to feed multiple outputs, manage assets across the public transport network and manage transport operations.
CoSA receives data from several sources including Bus Service Registrations, Electronic Bus Service Registrations and Operator information.
The contract will be awarded for an Initial period of 4 years with an optional extension of 4 years
