The Port of Workington requires a Project Management partner, for the delivery of a project to provide maintenance and upgrades, to the ports two mitre gates. This procurement will cover two phases for the project. Guildford Borough Council (GBC) is inviting quotations for the supply and installation of workshop and MOT bay equipment at a new depot facility.
As part of a borough-wide regeneration programme, the existing depot on Woking Road is being redeveloped for housing, with a new purpose-built site currently under construction at Slyfield Industrial Estate.
The depot will accommodate the Council’s key frontline services, including waste and recycling, street cleaning, housing repairs (supporting Council-owned properties), a vehicle workshop, and a central stores area for building materials. A separate storage area will also be provided for the Museum.
The new depot represents a significant improvement for staff, bringing office-based and operational teams together in a modern, purpose-built facility. Construction is expected to complete in July 2026, with furniture, equipment installation and commissioning anticipated around September 2026, following snagging.
