Yorwaste are inviting tenders for the collection of scrap metal (Both ferrous and non-ferrous) from its network of Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) (The ‘Service’).
The Service will include:
- Collection of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal
- Collection of large domestic appliances (WEEE A)
- Daily collections from the HWRCs
- Provision of a suitably licensed delivery point
The successful supplier be required to:
- Agree a collection process with Yorwaste
- Periodically weigh collections using one of Yorwaste’s own weighbridges.

The Company requires the supply, delivery and subsequent maintenance of up to 45 portable compactors. Exact quantities to be ordered will be confirmed upon further accurate identification of need.
Potential suppliers may visit our Northallerton household waste recycling centre to view the current compactors. The date for this visit will be 11:00am on Wednesday 7h December 2022.
If suppliers wish to attend the site visit, they must confirm their attendance no later than Friday 2nd December 2022.
The number of attendees is limited to two per supplier.
The Company requires the supply, delivery and subsequent maintenance of up to 45 portable compactors. Exact quantities to be ordered will be confirmed upon further accurate identification of need.

As part of this service Yorwaste currently operates a fleet of 7 Volvo 540 tractor units with walking floor trailers. These assets provide a business-critical function for Yorwaste in moving various materials throughout North Yorkshire and maintaining material flow.
The current walking floor trailer units are due for replacement from January 2024 to March 2024 and as such Yorwaste are running a tender exercise to invite potential suppliers to bid for this work.
In relation to the Public Contract Regulations 2015 regulation 27 (the Open Procedure), the Company is inviting Suppliers to be included in the process by submitting a tender.
The scope of the contract will be for the supply of 7 Walking Floor Trailers.

The Company requires the supply, installation and subsequent maintenance of an automatic baler installing at its waste management site at Harewood Whin Transfer Station. The successful Supplier shall also be responsible for the maintenance of the baler for three years following the Installation Date.

The Company requires a contractor to transport and then process dry mixed recyclates per annum for a fixed gate fee.
The contractor will pass back to the Company all revenues generated from the onward sale of the outputs. Likewise, the Company will be liable for all costs to dispose or onward process any outputs.
Please note the Company gives no guarantee or warranty as to the amount of dry mixed recyclates available under this contract.
The main source of the dry mixed recyclates is material that will have been collected from households in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire.
Hambleton operate a two-stream collection, with glass collected separately in a blue box and other materials within a 240l bin on a fortnightly basis.
The Company requires a contractor to transport and then process dry mixed recyclates per annum for a fixed gate fee.
The contractor will pass back to the Company all revenues generated from the onward sale of the outputs. Likewise, the Company will be liable for all costs to dispose or onward process any outputs.
