The University is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified provider for waste management services.
All waste streams to be collected efficiently and disposed of appropriately and in a timely manner. Advice and assistance in achieving our goals of overall waste reduction and increased recycling rates.
The University has experienced sustained growth in applications from Africa, particularly Nigeria. To support this demand, as well as the potential for growth in other territories, YSJ operates a dedicated Africa Admissions Office in Lagos. The University seeks to tender for skilled and experienced providers to deliver this service in future. Other geographical locations would be considered, if demonstrably beneficial to the delivery of the service requirements. This office processes applications, conducts document verification, manages Pre-CAS interviews, and provides applicant support on behalf of the UK Admissions team. The University is retendering for a Service Provider to operate this service, ensuring high quality delivery, compliance with UKVI and University standards, and a seamless extension of the UK admissions function.
The purpose of issuing a Prior Information Notice (PIN) first is to identify the appetite for such a partnership in the marketplace and to raise awareness of our intentions. It will allow interested parties to approach the university in readiness for the publication of a formal Invitation to Tender (ITT).
It is our expectation that the University will invite bidders to participate in a competitive dialogue, with strictly limited scope for negotiation, from early July 2023. The majority of the tender specification will not be open to discussion, as the requirement, the design and contractor for the work are all well established. The only elements of the tender that will remain open to negotiation will be those which pertain to the amount of investment that the bidder wishes to contribute, the value of the return they expect to receive and the arrangements and timing for exiting the investment.
Whilst in-person visits to the site are not mandatory prior to participation, they are highly recommended. Interested parties should contact the University using the email address procurement@yorksj.ac.uk only, with names and roles of attendees and an indication of suitable dates for you to meet with us. This will facilitate the confirmation of availability from key YSJ personal required to attend, when the timing of the visit(s) can be finalised.
At this early stage, we would invite interested parties to share with us their views on this proposed approach and any challenges they envisage from the project. We would also invite their views on participating in a project whereby the design is already determined and a preferred contractor is in place. Any other matters of concern should also be raised at this point in the process as this will allow us to mitigate them where we are able, prior to the next stage of the process.
The University seeks to transform its student support services by creating a welcoming, accessible, and flexible space that fosters a seamless experience for students across all campuses. The project will repurpose the foyer of the Holgate Building into a central hub that integrates frontline and second-line support with dedicated spaces for confidential conversations and self-service options. This redesign will provide a calm, inclusive environment, addressing the diverse needs of students, while ensuring a consistent service across the university’s campuses. To view this notice, please click here:
