Yorkshire Water Services (YWS) is intending to put in place a Framework with a partner(s) who have a proven track record of providing Monosodium Phosphate (MSP). The MSP will be used in YWS clean water treatment sites. The scope of this tender is for RTS software and related systems integration services. Yorkshire Water Services is undergoing a process for the transforming and enhancing of Operational Technology (OT) platforms and processes. The key focus of this procurement phase is to replace the existing Legacy Regional Telemetry System (RTS), integrate with existing business systems, associated training, and data transformation e.g. datapoints and mimics. RTS is our core Telemetry Monitoring System provided by Metasphere Ltd and is also known as the MC2000 product. This system currently provides the capability for near real time monitoring and intervention of 6500 Edge Devices, converting this data into actionable business intelligence. There are over 10,000 schematics (mimics) configured from a data base of over 275,000 data streams. Data streams are stored in a native historian and are key for YW day to day operations. This functionality ensures the safe and efficient operation of various assets, including monitoring reservoir and borehole levels, water quality readings, and pump or valve statuses across both clean and wastewater systems. The processed data is displayed in our operational control room and accessed remotely by key operational users, ensuring that our assets and processes operate efficiently, minimising risks to customers and the environment. This RTS data also is a key feed into our compliance and regulatory reporting systems.

The organisation is now moving into a new phase of strategic maturity, aiming to apply AI in ways that deliver measurable value across the business. AI is recognised at the executive level as a priority capability to support efficiency, resilience, and improved customer service. YW operates in a heavily regulated environment, and any use of AI must align with regulatory requirements around transparency, ethics, security, and operational reliability. There are currently two priority domains for AI (although the scope of the framework will be for any AI/ML services required at Yorkshire Water): 1. Central Control Operations • Yorkshire Water operates a real-time control room that monitors extensive telemetry across clean and wastewater networks. • Operators are overwhelmed by alarms, many of which are false positives due to manually-set thresholds (e.g. "trigger at 80% tank level" without data context). • Decision-making often relies on decades of tacit knowledge, e.g. knowing which alarms to ignore or act on. • There is a strong opportunity to apply AI in: o Alarm triaging and rationalisation o Digital twins for simulation and scenario testing o Predictive maintenance and network optimisation o Performance is heavily regulated; service outages or pollution events result in significant financial penalties - hence the need for trusted, explainable automation. 2. Customer Service Operations • Yorkshire Water serves around 5 million customers, handling thousands of customer queries and calls, often with high manual effort. • Call centre volumes spike due to changes like pricing or hosepipe bans, and many interactions (e.g. moving house) are highly repetitive and ripe for automation. • Digital self-service is limited; the website is dated and lacks tools like live chat. • There is strong interest in deploying voice bots, LLM-powered agents, and NLP models to: o Automate simple tasks o Improve customer response time o Prioritise vulnerable customers (while navigating GDPR/sentiment rules) To accelerate delivery and unlock value across the organisation, YW is establishing a framework of specialist AI service providers. The focus is on working with partners who can bring genuine AI expertise and work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver real, operationally grounded solutions. YW is seeking to develop trusted partnerships with AI specialists who can support the delivery of practical, business-focused solutions. There is a strong emphasis on collaboration, with suppliers expected to work closely with internal teams and co-develop solutions in an agile, transparent way. The organisation aims to upskill internal staff as part of any delivery, ensuring that solutions can be owned, maintained, and adapted in-house over time. Suppliers must be able to work entirely within Yorkshire Water's environment, including existing cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure), CRM (Dynamics), and other systems. Yorkshire Water Services (YWS) is looking for a selection of suppliers for the provision of Value Added Reseller services. It is YWS's intention to establish and award an open framework to a selection of suppliers for the supply of Software and Associated Services ("Opportunity") across the YWS's networks. The current expectations are to add at least three (3) partners (dependent on tender qualification and subsequent award) to carry out the supply to YWS. However, we reserve the right to award more or less than this number. Yorkshire Water intends to appoint a partner to provide Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) unit acquisition services in accordance with the Environment Act 2021. The appointed partner will identify, secure, and acquire biodiversity units, including registration with DEFRA and Natural England. Services will include market engagement, habitat validation, reporting, and long-term compliance monitoring. This contract will support Yorkshire Water's AMP8 capital programme by ensuring timely and cost-effective access to biodiversity units across its development portfolio.

This initiative involves Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) of pump lifting chains, aligned with LOLER and PUWER regulations, and will include the cleaning, inspection, reinstallation, and recertification of ~7,500 pump lifting chains

Yorkshire Water is seeking to establish a multi-supplier framework agreement for the supply of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment calibration services. This procurement opportunity is titled CM3093 Laboratory Supply, Consumables and Equipment Calibration. The purpose of this contract is to ensure the continued, compliant, and cost-effective provision of laboratory materials and services to support Yorkshire Water's Clean Water and Wastewater laboratories, which carry out routine sampling and analysis.
