TENDER OPPORTUNITY FOR A NEW GROUNDS MAINTENANCE CONTRACT. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST INVITED
Wootton Parish Council in Northampton is wishing to secure a grounds maintenance contract on green open space throughout the parish. The Council owns most of the open space which consists of:
• A village green
• Football & sports pitches
• A memorial garden
• Two nature walks
• A pocket park
• Pathways
• Hedgerows
Wootton Parish Council is looking for a contractor to mow green open space with both a gang mower for pitches & paths and box mower for the village green. The grounds maintenance contract will also include annually flailing hedges and regular white lining of football pitches.
The ideal contractor must be local and must be able to demonstrate experience working within the local government sector and examples of such. The contractor will be required to provide evidence of access to machinery to carry out the work and must comply with latest enactments, regulations and working rules relating to health & safety.
The prospective contractor must have a passion for quality and be flexible to accommodate the requirements of the council.

Wootton is a large village situated to the south west of Bedford. Wootton Parish Council's Grass Cutting contract is due for renewal on 1st April 2023. The contract will run for a period of three years, ending 31st March 2026.
New Grounds Maintenance Contract - Wootton Parish Council
Wootton Parish Council seeks a contractor for a 2-year grounds maintenance contract (1 April 2026 - 31 March 2028) covering parish green spaces including village green, football/sports pitches, memorial garden, nature walks, pocket park, pathways, hedgerows, and cemetery/closed churchyard. Services include mowing (gang and box mowers), annual hedge flailing, strimming around graves, fences, play equipment and paths, and fortnightly lining of football pitches. Contractors must demonstrate local government experience, access to suitable machinery, compliance with health & safety regulations, and a commitment to quality and flexibility. Tenders will be assessed on 70% quality and 30% price. Submission deadline: 12:0 noon, 30 January 2026.
