West Berkshire Council are tendering for an operating partner to manage leisure centre operations across the District. The service will cover the following leisure centres: -Northcroft Leisure Centre in Newbury;-Willink Leisure Centre in Burghfield; -Hungerford Leisure Centre, Hungerford;-Kennet Leisure Centre in Thatcham;-The Lambourn Centre in Lambourn; -Downland Sports Centre at Compton; -Newbury Sports Hub (to be constructed in 2022).West Berkshire Council is also including Cotswold Sports Centre, Tilehurst within the contract; however, this will be subject to 6 months’ notice for termination if plans should progress for the new leisure centre outlined within the specification. Supporting Families is seeking to place a youth worker for two days a week in each of the ten secondary schools and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in West Berkshire for two days a week. The youth worker will work with pupils identified by the school/PRU who may benefit from one to one intervention by the youth worker with the overall aim of improving engagement with education, encouraging better behaviour or attainment in school, reducing the risk of exclusions, and reducing exclusions.

The Council is tendering a contract for Housing First Tenancy Support and Sustainment Service This service has been developed following a review of the homelessness services in West Berkshire. This identified a need for a person-centred housing support service for entrenched rough sleepers with multiple and complex needs. This provision enables the council to meet its strategic priorities around homelessness and rough sleeping. The service will be required to develop excellent partnership and joint working arrangements with relevant agencies within West Berkshire to deliver positive outcomes for both rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping.
