The University of Northampton is seeking an efficient, innovative, environmentally friendly, cost and financially competitive, high quality supplier of cleaning and janitorial supplies, conducted in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner. The University of Northampton through this exercise seeks a supplier with proven track record of excellent service delivery, positive and satisfied customers experience achieved, capable of meeting its obligations with the scope of provided guidelines while provides measured quality in its services delivered. The University of Northampton has reaffirmed its commitment to combating climate change by pledging to becoming net zero carbon by 2030. The institution's management team has endorsed the pledge to deliver net zero carbon by 2030, which means the University needs to eliminate or offset 5,000 tonnes of carbon emissions* by the end of the decade. As a result, University of Northampton is looking for a supplier that has the same commitment and places green initiative such as recycling cardboards, less packaging and sourcing green and eco-friendly products where possible at the heart of their operations. As such the cardboard packaging shall consist of >= 80% recycled material. Products carrying a relevant Type Eco label fulfilling the listed criteria will be deemed to comply. The requirements of the latest revisions of the relevant EU Eco label criteria shall be met in full by those products which fall within their scope. The Contractor shall be responsible for sourcing and delivery of the products supplies as defined and requested in the attached agreed and approved CORE/PROPOSAL list of items and The University is looking for one supplier to provide all services and not in lots. Products required are Cleaning Chemicals, Catering Chemicals, Paper Goods and Equipment UON Required Criteria/expectations for Paper Products/Cleaning Chemicals/Agents/Dispensers are as below: 1. Paper products composition must consider requirements for minimum pipe slopes to sustain transport and disintegration of flushable products in small pipes in UON buildings and sewers to prevent blockages and environmental issues. The products need to be of such composition and quality to disintegrate rapidly in sewer systems. 2. UON preference in sourcing of paper products is for products to be ecologically sourced, sustainable, socially responsible, environmentally friendly, and recyclable where possible and be cost effective. Particular attention will be paid to quality, the environment, and also contribution towards our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. The University of Northampton is seeking an efficient, pro-active and responsive maintenance provider of lifts and lifting equipment throughout the university estate. The Contractor shall be responsible for the management of assets as defined in appendix 4a ('assets' tab) The contract is for the provision of a comprehensive planned preventative maintenance, repairs, reactive callout and entrapment attendance from the University of Northampton's following sites: o Waterside Campus (NN1 5PH) o Scholars Green Student Village (NN2 7AL) o Development Hub (NN1 5FS), o St. John's Hall of Residence (NN1 1DH) o University of Northampton Innovation Centre (NN1 1SY) o Icon Environmental Innovation Centre (NN11 1QB) Although 12 service visits per annum have been requested, alternative offers (with explanation) can be provided and explored should a provider be successful. However, the university reserves the right to discount these in favour of the prescribed number of visits. There is a minimum requirement of an online dashboard reporting in/out of service metrics and callout updates to be made available for client viewing alongside electronic reporting following all site visits. The provider will act in an advisory capacity on current stock reliability and new technology to assist with callout prevention and future University developments. The provider will be expected to highlight areas of potential savings (financial or downtime) that can be explored throughout the life of the contract and enable the University to minimise negative feedback (from users) and additional repair costs (through regular fault finding). Consolidated monthly invoicing across all services will be required. All assets are available for use by persons are subject to the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).

The Faculty of Health, Education and Society provides education and training opportunities for a range of healthcare professionals and has a requirement to ensure students undertake mandatory training prior to their allocated placements. Students on validated courses within the Faculty of Health & Society at the University of Northampton spend 50% of their course hours working in practice. The University of Northampton existing managed hosting contract is due to expire and so are seeking a managed WordPress hosting service from Spring 2024. The University is looking for a partner to host our public website as well as blogs sites and other sites related to the university. The host will have a minimum of six years experience, with at least 1,000 plus customers. There is a requirement for the ability to install multiple WordPress sites with the facility to allow a multisite system on a WordPress site where needed. The University of Northampton existing managed hosting contract is due to expire and so are seeking a managed WordPress hosting service from Spring 2024. This service needs to be hosted in preferably in the UK. The hosting service will be required to host several WordPress sites, including a Restaurant site, Hotel Site, a Blog site with multi-sites enabled, Virtual Tour and the main University public website which runs multi sub-sites for areas of the university which require a public facing website. The main University public website had over 3 million visitors in the last year and so the successful tenderer will need to be able to handle peaks of high activity/traffic. Also, the successful tenderer will need to provide 24 hours per day monitoring of the public website ensuring issues can be detected and resolved quickly. Over the period of the contract the University's AV, Digital and collaborative tools Team will also be moving websites, microsites and blogs which are used elsewhere within the university to the hosting solution. This will include having multi-site enabled for some sites so that microsites and blogs can sit under their respective sites. An example of this is Awards and Module catalogue ( https://www.northampton.ac.uk/awards/ ) currently sitting under the public website ( https://www.northampton.ac.uk/ ) installation. The total hosting of at least 30 sites (A mixture of Live and Development/Staging sites) will be needed with expansion as more sites are brought into the hosting environment. Our bandwidth usage is around 1.2TB a month with 959GB of this being taken up by our main public website and can go higher in our super busy periods such as Clearing and Welcome Week. The total storage for all our websites is approximately 250GB at the present time but this is growing by approximately 2Gb a month. However, we are unable to calculate two sites growth patterns as they have only recently come online. The ideal supplier will become a strategic partner for the duration of the contract which will be two years. The supplier will need to add value by providing the University with support services, such as consulting and possible assistance with assurance of code along with the core provision of the managed platform and hosting.
