UKNNL requires a single supplier to supply state-of-the-art Wireless Instrumentation and control systems. This contract will include supplying sensors and actuators with wireless capability, technical solutions for retrofitting existing instrumentation, supply of components to create a wireless mesh network using robust and reliable wireless communication protocol.

The Strategic Design Partner (SDP) Framework is intended to comprise of four stages, these are: Stage 1: Defining Period Stage 2: Preliminary Design Stage 3: Detailed Design Stage 4: Design Support During Manufacture UKNNL will enter into a new call-off for each stage of work, UKNNL reserves the right to not award future call-offs to the framework appointed supplier. UKNNL will continually assess Key Performance Indicators to inform decision making surrounding future call-offs. Sites The Provider must ensure that services are accessible to users located near UKNNL’s primary sites. This includes delivering occupational health services in a manner that minimises travel and disruption for employees. The primary locations are: - Warrington: Chadwick House, Birchwood Park, Warrington, Cheshire, WA3 6AE. - Workington: Workington Laboratory, Havelock Road, Derwent Howe, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 3YQ. There may also be a requirement for the Provider to deliver services on an ad hoc basis to remote workers or users based near other UKNNL or partner sites. The United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory (UKNNL) is inviting applications from UK Universities, to funding for a PhD project, to begin no later that October 2026. This project shall support the UK's ambition to establish a secure and resilient supply of High-Assay Low Enriched Uranium. UKNNL are particularly interested in those applications which are Supported by a Doctoral Focal Award.
